Tide Waste Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a waste removal company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is in Bermondsey, London. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website and our booking platform.

We collect information you provide directly to us:

• Booking data: name, email address, UK phone number, collection address, postcode, and details about the waste to be collected.
• Communications: any messages sent through the Help page or by email.
• Marketing preferences: whether you have opted in to receive promotional emails.

We also collect limited technical data automatically when you use our site, including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, via standard server logs and cookies (see Cookies below).

• To process and manage your collection booking.
• To send you booking confirmations, crew ETA updates, and waste transfer notes.
• To respond to enquiries and support requests.
• To send marketing emails about services and offers, where you have opted in.
• To improve our website and services using aggregated, anonymised analytics.
• To comply with our legal obligations, including issuing waste transfer notes as required under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:

• Contract performance: processing your booking, sending confirmations and operational updates.
• Legitimate interests: fraud prevention, security, and improving our services — balanced against your interests.
• Consent: sending marketing emails (you can withdraw at any time).
• Legal obligation: issuing statutory waste transfer notes.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary:

• Payment processors: to handle card payments securely (e.g. Stripe). They process data under their own privacy policies.
• Email service providers: to send transactional and marketing emails.
• Logistics systems: our internal crew dispatch platform, which is hosted in the UK/EEA.
• Legal authorities: where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

We retain booking records for 7 years to comply with our accounting and waste-carrier obligations. Marketing consent records are retained for 3 years from the date of last interaction. You can request deletion of your personal data at any time (see Your rights below).

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”), subject to legal retention obligations.
